It's funny how much we rely on technology in the 21st century. Today we had a power cut in my town, and the electricity was off for over 4 hours. That was 4 hours without lights, computer, internet connection, TV etc. But it's not just that kind of stuff that uses electricity, don't forget ovens, fridges, kettles, freezers and so on. There was barely enough light to read by, thanks to the awful weather these past few days meaning it gets dark at 4pm, practically, so I ended up playing Monopoly by candlelight with my mum ♥
It literally felt like we'd gone back in time half a century, especially since we have an old-fashioned Monopoly board! So anyway, that was what inspired this vintage set.
I think I want a typewriter more than anything else in the world right now ♥

I love books the way most people love music. Literature is my drug, and I can't imagine life without it. I am hugely indebted to John Green, Douglas Adams, Michael Grant, Patrick Ness, Agatha Christie, Stephen Baxter, Meg Rosoff, George Orwell, Jostein Gaarder, Jandy Nelson, Ruta Sepetys, Stephen Chbosky and so many more for allowing me the privilege of escaping into their own personal Wonderlands. I wish I could have stayed forever, but it turns out that Real Life is awfully persistent in interrupting things.
